On this page are all my original papercraft models which I’ve created. At this moment only one but there is more to come – maybe.
Papercraft Alfonso model from Animal Crossing: City Folk Wii
”Slow and steady wins the race.”
”We’re friends, so I won’t gnaw on your legs, even though I’m starving.”
From Nookipedia:
”Alfonso (アルベルト, Aruberuto, Albert) is a lazy alligator villager from the Animal Crossing series. He appears in Doubutsu no Mori (film) as a major character and Yu’s best friend. His catchphrase, ’it’s a me,’ is a reference to the famous Nintendo character, Mario.
Alfonso’s design has elements of Nintendo’s mascot Mario from the Super Mario series. Alfonso not only mimics Mario’s ’it’s a me’ quote as his initial phrase, but he also wears the Big Bro Shirt, which features the ’M’ emblem on Mario’s cap. He is a burnt-umber orange with a white jaw, cheeks, and stomach. There are darker circles of orange on his face, legs, arms, and tail.
As a lazy villager, Alfonso will be easy to get along with due to his laid back lifestyle. Like all lazy villagers, he shares a love of food and relaxing. In Animal Crossing: Wild World, he will mention his dream of diving in, for example, a pool of chocolate. He will enjoy partaking in the usual hobbies, usually for relaxing reasons or for food, when fishing. He will get along well with other villagers, but may offend or confuse jock villagers, who have a conflicting lifestyle of exercise and fitness, compared to the lazy lifestyle of relaxing and food. He will get along with other lazy villagers with whom he will talk about food, comics or superheroes. He will also get along well with normal and peppy villagers, but may from time to time annoy snooty and cranky villagers, who disagree with the lazy lifestyle.”
I have played Animal Crossing games maybe more than any other games or game series even though Zelda games I have been playing all my life and in Fallout 2 I have wasted far more than is healthy but those hours pale when comparing to those which I have spent in fishing, planting trees and listening K.K’s tunes in Animal Crossing games.
Year 2016 is the 15th anniversary year for this game series, to honor this I wanted to make a papercraft model. Internet is full of Isabell-models so instead I chose one of the villagers. Alfonso is one of my favorite villagers and let’s face it alligators are just cool. I have been building papercraft models for a long time already but this is my first own model which I’ve built. I want to share this one for all the internet. Alfonso model is about 20 cm in height and it is a nice small one to stand on the table corner. 3d model is from Wii Animal Crossing City Folk game. Four pages and 81 parts. For a papercraft model it ain’t the easiest but not a super difficult. The build process is better to start from the top, meaning the eyes and work your way down. From the .pdo-file can be seen how the parts fit to each other. For opening the .pdo-files you need the greatest program ever called Pepakura Viewer which can be downloaded from here if you don’t have it already. Below are the links for the model, one with lines and one without and .pdf version as well. Below is a video of building this model. Happy and fun build process for everyone!
Animal Crossing is a property of Nintendo so support Nintendo by buying their games and especially buying Animal Crossing games but don’t buy amiibos – those things are just designed to grab your money and are just totally pointless, and furthermore Nintendo should really start focusing again on making games
Here are the links to download the model if you want to do this one yourself.
